You couldn’t ask for a better location for your stay in Hobart. We are located right on Hobart’s Waterfront with many different room types to suit every taste and budget. With less than 5 minutes walk to most of Hobart’s attractions including the ferry to MONA Museum, Salamanca Markets and Hobart’s main shopping precinct, we are the perfect base for your stay.
Our 30 rooms are the perfect mix of old world charm with a modern twist. We have recently renovated all of our rooms with new bathrooms and furnishings as well as the addition of 6 brand new rooms over the Mission to Seafarers building on Morrison Street. All of our rooms have ensuite bathrooms, tea and coffee facilities, TV and small fridge. We have a self–service laundry available to guests and free WIFI is available throughout the hotel.
Due to the historic nature of the building and location we can offer 7 parking bays for the hotel, meaning that spots are limited and need to be booked in advance to avoid disappointment. There are many different parking options within walking distance of the hotel. Metered parking is the most common, but for anyone wishing to leave their car for a longer duration we can advise that the nearest long term, secure parking is approximately 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Our unique location in the heart of Hobart’s premier restaurant and entertainment precinct will ensure that you enjoy the nightlife and some noise can be expected.
After over 25 years welcoming guests from all over the world we are proud of our passion and respect for the food and service we provide to our customers. We are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days (except Christmas day).
In 2003, the original Customs House Hotel took over the ship chandlery building next door on Morrison Street, and transformed it into our award winning restaurant. The original sandstone has been restored giving a feeling of history and charm with 100 seats in a waterfront setting, our restaurant is a staple in the Hobart dining scene. We are proud to use only the freshest local ingredients including East Coast shellfish and wallaby from Bagdad. With our focus on beautiful, fresh seafood we provide an ambient environment to enjoy your meal while watching the world go by. Our extensive wine list showcases local and national wines chosen to compliment the array of dishes we have on offer.
In 2016 our Al Fresco dining area was upgraded to be one of the best outdoor dining locations on the Waterfront, perfect for lazy days of great food and people watching.
